My apartment in Andalusia, Spain, is a new aquisition. Last couple of months I dealt with furnishing and preparing it for living and renting. Yes, with my wife we have decided to stay there during the off season period and rent it to the tourists for summer and winter holidays. At the bottom of this page you may see the film from the apartment. But before watching it get some information about it.
YOU MAY RENT IT FOR YOUR HOLIDAYS, TOO!

My apartment in Andalusia is a spacious holiday apartment in the town of Velez de Benaudalla.
Just a few kilometres from the wide sandy beaches of the Costa Tropical and at the foot of the Sierra de Lujar, for those who want to immerse themselves in the atmosphere of authentic Andalusia.
Thanks to its proximity to the coast, you can enjoy the Mediterranean beach to your heart’s content, but at the same time avoid the hustle and bustle typical of holiday resorts.
The holiday apartment is located on a hill, which makes the view from the terrace of the surrounding mountains stunning. It only takes a few minutes of walking to get to the town centre. You can choose one of the charming passages between the houses of the old quarter, known as the Bario Arabe. There cats lazily glance at passers-by basking in the sun. Velez de Benaudalla is a lively town, with bakeries selling sweet pastries in addition to bread, including regional roscas and pestinias. On the main street there is a traditional vegetable market offering fruit and vegetables from the surrounding fields and orchards. Try wonderful ripe avocados and exotic fruits that ripen in the mild climate of the Costa Tropical – mango, persimmon (kaki) and pitaya.
Those who like to cook have an excellent selection of goods in a small supermarket, a fishmonger and several butchers, and those who don’t like to cook have a great selection of local bars and restaurants.
Most importantly, these are not typical tourist eateries, but places where Velez locals frequent. Depending on your tastes, you can have simple tapas, a hamburger, a set lunch or exquisite a la carte dishes. On a Sunday morning, one of the bars invites you for hot churros with chocolate.
The locals’ attachment to tradition is reflected in the care they give to their historical monuments. The most important of these are the Castillo Arabe, a reconquista castle towering over the old town, and the Jardin Nazari park on the opposite side of town. Above all, the Jardin Nazari, which was founded by Arab rulers in the 12th century, is full of colourful flowers, lush shrubs and trees at all times of the year, and the rocky caves, formed naturally by the action of water, amaze the eye.
Several hiking trails lead from the town, which can be followed either on foot or by bicycle. Nature is thriving thanks to the abundance of water that flows down from the mountains and feeds the Guadalfeo river, whose canyon cuts through the half-tall rock massifs just outside the town. In Velez itself we have several natural springs from which many of the inhabitants draw their drinking water.
A stay in Velez and its immediate surroundings allows you to calm down and get a taste of the Andalusian pace of life. It is also worth taking a few excursions from Velez.
On the nearby coast a real gem is Salobrenia, the old part of which is shaped like a mound topped by the walls of an old castle.
End your hour-long walk between white houses decorated with countless pots of succulents, bougainvillea and geraniums with a coffee with milk in one of the bars. Thirty kilometres further along the coast in a westerly direction, you will reach Nerja, a town of twenty thousand inhabitants, whose history dates back to Roman times. Here you can wander through the secluded streets of the old town before reaching the famous Balcon de Europa, a two-storey terrace on a rocky cliff that offers a breathtaking view of the sea and the two beaches on either side.
My apartment in Andalusia consists of a living room with a large open kitchen and two double bedrooms.
The kitchen is fully equipped with tableware, glasses, glasses, cups and cutlery. Pots, pans and heatproof dishes can be used to prepare food. And if someone would like to bake a cake, they will find a small food processor and a cake pan in one of the cupboards. There is an electric kettle, toaster, fridge with freezer, cooker with oven. Also in the kitchen there is a washing machine. The living room includes a dining area – table and chairs – and a seating area – with a sofa set, occasional table. Guests can enjoy Spanish TV, satellite TV and Netflix channels. High quality internet access is provided – via a fibre optic network.
From the living room, double doors lead out onto the L-shaped terrace, with a table and chairs for four and a parasol.
You can actually spend the whole day on the terrace, soaking up the panoramic views of the mountains and admiring the majestic shape of the castillo. You can start with a morning coffee and end with an evening wine. Along the way, every meal on the terrace will taste like the best restaurant. Only birdsong and sometimes or slow clatter of horses’ hooves in the distance or the barking of a dog may disturb the silence Thanks to the corner location of the terrace holiday apartment, you can not only enjoy the beautiful views. But also enjoy complete intimacy, because it is separated from the only neighbouring balcony by a high wall. To protect the living room from the afternoon sun, guests can lower the blinds and, if necessary, use the air conditioner.
The bedrooms and bathroom have separate, unobstructed entrances. Both the bedrooms and the bathroom have external windows. It is very nice when waking up in the morning to catch a glimpse of the mountains or the lush trees growing opposite. One of the bedrooms has two separate beds, the other bedroom has a double bed. Moreover, rooms have soft, relaxing decor, comfortable mattresses and enough light – both during the day and in the evening.
The bathroom is equipped with a washbasin, bathtub, bidet and toilet. All toiletries can be stowed away in a small cupboard. In addition in cooler seasons, you can quickly get the right temperature for a bath by turning on the electric heater above the door.
Weather in Velez de Benaudalla
Although the weather in Velez de Benaudalla is favourable practically all year round, during the winter months when it is colder at night (approx. 8-10 °C), guests have heating in each room (air conditioning in the living room, oil-fired radiators in the bedrooms and a wall heater in the bathroom). The holiday apartment is located in a closed complex of two buildings, with swimming pool, gym and sauna. Although the holiday apartment is actually on the second floor, you have to press the “4” button in the lift – because the lift also stops on the mezzanine floors.
